Account MTF 2010 Calendar

Are you considering a career in accounting? Do you plan to apply to the MSA program? If so, this information may assist you in understanding the formal process more commonly known as “Meet the Firms”.

Students often find the process of interviewing with companies for internships or permanent employment frustrating and confusing. In an effort to provide students guidance in this area, the Rawls College of Business accounting faculty, the Accounting Leadership Council, and the Career Management Center have developed a Recruiting Standardization Program specifically for undergraduate accounting students pursuing the Master's of Science in Accounting (MSA) degree.

This program allows MSA candidates exclusive recruiting privileges to interview and be recruited by many nationally competitive accounting firms. Your participation allows you to become involved in the MSA Intern Program as well as be an active participant with recruiting events (i.e., on-campus interviewing, information sessions, and social events held by the firms).

We are seeing a far more competitive market for talent here at the Rawls College of Business due to the MSA degree. To gain a competitive edge, firms are starting to hire a majority of their full-time employees from their internship programs. Many interns will have employment offers before they even return for their final year of study. Firms, for the most part, identify students who are involved, actively participating in recruitment activities, and engaged in the recruitment process.
